Skier, Schemer, and Lifelong Learner

Hi! My name is Kylie and skiing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My earliest ski memory is triumphantly learning how to ride the T-bar at the now defunct Maple Valley Ski Area, and I've continued to make cherished memories skiing with friends and family ever since. I've always been intrigued by ski resorts' trail maps: how they take a three-dimensional mountain into a useful two-dimensional projection, what you can learn from a mountain just by looking at a trail map, and what you can only figure out by actually skiing the mountain.

While skiing has always been a physical and mental release for me, it wasn't until I was in the throes of wedding planning (at a ski resort) that I realized that skiing could provide a creative outlet as well. I enjoyed the process of developing our trail map themed table signs and got enough positive feedback that I started thinking of how I could apply a similar process so skiers and snowboarders could have a small piece of their favorite mountains with them every day, and the seed of Stump Jumpers Prints was planted.

Named for my favorite trail at my childhood home mountain, I've loved the challenge of translating an entire trail map into about 11 square inches. So whether your Stump Jumper magnet is going on a fridge at home, a filing cabinet in the office, or a ski locker at the base of the mountain, I hope you enjoy being able to have a small piece of your favorite mountains with you wherever you go.

Each print includes two high quality magnets, so they'll actually stick to your fridge and hold that packing list too. Each magnet is assembled by hand to ensure they're actually useful, and not just pretty minimalist maps to show off everywhere you've skied.

Prints are specific each mountain's specific trail map, including the terrain rating for each trail, so they aren't generic squiggles of green, blue, and black. If you're sick of seeing the same style souvenir everywhere you ski, where the area name is just replaced, then these are for you.

Made by a lifelong skier who has studied dozens of trail maps and skied across the U.S. Knowing how a trail map translates to navigating a mountain, and how it doesn't, helps to reflect the actual skiing experience at each mountain.
